- COURSE TITLE: ELECTIVE ROTATION
- COURSE/PREFIX NUMBER: PHA 419
- CREDIT HOURS: 3
- CONTACT HOURS: 172 clinical hours
- COURSE PREREQUISITES/COREQUISITES: Successful completion of Year I of the
PA Program and all previous rotations.
- COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The
academic elective rotation is a four-week experience that is designed to
provide the student with an opportunity to understand the role of the
physician assistant educator.
- COURSE OBJECTIVES: By the end of the
academic rotation, the student will demonstrate
- Knowledge of the multiple
roles a faculty member plays.
- An understanding of the
curriculum-planning process.
- An understanding of the
lesson-planning process.
- An understanding of the
process of program evaluation.
- LECTURE/LAB/CLINICAL SCHEDULE:
Regular working hours of the institution.
- COURSE GUIDELINES AND EXPECTATIONS:
Policies will be consistent with those published
in the Clinical Year Manual and the College Student Handbook. The 7-point
grading scale in the College Student Handbook will be used.
