- COURSE TITLE: ELECTIVE ROTATION
- COURSE/PREFIX NUMBER: PHA 419
- CREDIT HOURS: 3
- CONTACT HOURS: 172 clinical hours
- COURSE PREREQUISITES/COREQUISITES: Successful completion of Year I of the
PA Program.
- COURSE DESCRIPTION:
The elective rotation is a
one-month experience
designed to provide the student an opportunity to pursue an area of personal interest,
including medical subspecialties, medical education, health administration, and research.
The student may also use this rotation to strengthen skills in a required area.
The final
decision on elective course content will be at the discretion of the PA Program
Clinical Coordinator.
- COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Course objectives will be determined after elective topics have been
selected and approved.

- LECTURE/LAB/CLINICAL SCHEDULE: Rotations individually assigned.

COURSE GUIDELINES AND EXPECTATIONS:
Policies will be consistent with those published in the Clinical Year Manual
and the College Student Handbook. The 7-point
grading scale in the College Student Handbook will be used.

TEXTS/REFERENCE MATERIALS: – In addition to
books
required for all rotations:Required readings will
come from currently required texts, current literature, and resources available in the
library and on the Internet. Final selections will be determined by the clinical
coordinator and the preceptor based on the rotation content and objectives.
