Clinical Concentration Rotation
Syllabus & Course Objectives

- COURSE PREREQUISITES/COREQUISITES:
Successful completion of Year I of the PA
Program and all previous rotations, and approval of
the clinical coordinator.
- COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This required six-week experience is the student’s final
rotation. It is designed to provide the student with an opportunity to
refine skills in health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis,
management, and treatment of patients in a primary care setting. Ideally, it
will also provide practical experience in patient care responsibilities at a
site of potential employment.
- COURSE OBJECTIVES:
By the end of this rotation, the
PA student
will:
- Identify areas for needed improvement in the following:
- Knowledge of content areas, by reviewing the PACKRAT and previous EOR
exams.
- Professional growth, by reviewing preceptor evaluations from
previous rotations.
- Develop and implement a plan, with goals and objectives, designed to
improve on identified areas of weakness.
- Refine skills in health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis,
management, and treatment of patients.

- LECTURE/LAB/CLINICAL SCHEDULE: Rotations individually assigned.

- COURSE GUIDELINES AND EXPECTATIONS:
Policies will be consistent with those published in the Clinical Year Manual
and the College Student Handbook. The 7-point
grading scale in the College Student Handbook will be used.
