| Tim Miller | ||
| Hello, my name is Tim Miller. I grew up in a rural area of the Western Central Highlands of Virginia in the small town of Iron Gate. I currently reside in Clifton Forge, Virginia, with my wife Lynda and our three year old daughter Michaela. My wife and I have worked in the health care industry for many years. My wife is employed by Alleghany Regional Hospital in Low Moor, Virginia, as a respiratory therapist and cardiographic technician. I am currently employed part time due to attending school and work between the physical therapy and home oxygen departments. I completed my business degree in 1994 from Dabney S. | James Myers | ||
| My name is James Myers. I live in Blountville, Tenn., which is just a few miles from the Virginia Line. I live with my wife and I have three children and she has two. My two eldest are out of the house. My oldest daughter is a senior at George Mason and my younger daughter is a sophomore at East Tennessee State, which is where I went to school. I graduated in 1982 with a BS and have 33 post-graduate hours towards a Masters. I just retired from 27 years with the Bristol Virginia Police Department where I most recently was the Administrative Commander. I spent 9 years as a Paramedic with the Bristol Life Saving Crew and taught ENT-Shock Trauma and BTLS courses for many years. I come from a medical family as my mother was a nurse, my sister is a nurse, and my wife is a nurse-supervisor at ETSU Cardiology. | Hi! My name is April Nichols. I'm 23 years old. I graduated from CHS in 1997 with an Associate Degree in Nursing. I have been working at Carilion Roanoke Community Hospital for the past 4 years on a medical/surgical floor. I am originally from Ferrum, Va., but currently live in Floyd, Va., with my boyfriend of 5 years, Chris Bower. My favorite hobbies include camping, canoeing, and fishing. Yes, I'm a country gal! | My name
is Sherolyn Christensen. I am 23 years old and have been married for two
years. We do not have any children, unless you count our two dogs.
My husband and I grew up in the Chicago area. We moved to Blacksburg two years ago. Last month, we bought a house here in Roanoke. Now, most of our spare time is spent working on it. I have been working in the hospital out in Blacksburg as a CNA for the last year. I love my job, but am looking forward to furthering my education. | Theresa Sears | ||
| Hi! My name is Theresa Sears. I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Science from Bluefield State College in 1997. I am an optician, certified by the American Board of Opticianry, and a contact lens technician, certified to fit contact lenses by the national Contact Lens Examiners. I have worked full-time in the optometric field for the past fourteen years. I enjoy cooking, exercising, and spending time with my family. I am very excited to be here! tsears@mail.chs.edu |  |

| I am 24 years old and currently live in Christiansburg, Va. I graduated from Virginia Tech in December 1998 with a B.S. in biology. I grew up in a military family and have moved nine times in my life, including a couple of years in Seoul, Korea. I spent most of my high school years in Fairfax, Va., where my parents still reside. | My name is Bethany Tippett and I was born and raised in Northern Virginia. I have been fascinated with medicine since I was about 16 years old. Since then I have been searching for my niche in the area of medicine. I have finally discovered my niche and am pursuing a career as a physician assistant. I want to work with patients to provide the best care that I can and teach patients about how to better care for themselves. | Hi, everyone, my name is George Wade. I come from a small town in southern Virginia where I spent nine years as a volunteer firefighter and four years as an EMT. I enjoy spending time with my family, friends, and of course my lovely fiancée, Amy. When I’m away from school and work I try to stay underwater. I’ve been scuba diving for five years and am currently working on my Divemaster certification. If you haven’t tried diving you should--there is no other feeling in the world like it. | Hello everyone! My name is Sarah Weber. I was accepted into the program later than most so I am a little behind with my stuff, but I wanted to write and say HI. I grew up in Bedford, VA and am excited about getting a little closer to home. I graduated from Guilford College in Greensboro, NC with a Biology/Chemistry degree in May 1998. Since graduation, I have been living in Greensboro and working in research. I am excited and ready to get back into my primary interest of healthcare. My hobbies include working out, reading, cross-stitching, sewing and enjoying my 55-gallon salt-water aquarium. I also like to spend time with my friends and boyfriend, Ayal in my spare time. | Zach Zipsir | ||
| My name is Zach Zipsir and I am not one to talk about myself too much so I will just give you the quick rundown. I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. I graduated from Denison University with a Bachelor of Sciences degree in May of 2000. Since graduation I have been living in Columbus, Ohio, where I have worked as an EMT in a large hospital's Emergency Department. I recently became engaged and plan to marry after completing the PA program. My fiancée is currently a 3rd-year medical student at the Ohio State Medical School. As a PA I plan to specialize in orthopaedics with a possible emphasis on hand and micro-surgery. As for hobbies I love anything that has to do with the outdoors. I am an avid hiker, backpacker, and fly-fisher. During the winter months I do whatever it takes to get out West to ski and snowboard in order to fulfill my passion for the mountains.
