You may need to become a member in a designated professional organization or make a career commitment after graduation to be eligible for some financial aid possibilities. Veterans Caucus, Inc.
 A Caucus of the American Academy of Physician Assistants

Announcing the opening of the 2007 Veterans Caucus Scholarship season. In 2006 they awarded over $20,000 in scholarship money to eligible applicants. Requirements are competitive. 

Criteria for awarding most of the scholarships are on the basis of previous military experience, current academic standing, academic and civil recognition, and community involvement. They also have scholarships with special requirements; children of Air Force Member or dependent of Army Special Forces member, special needs, etc. Visit http://www.veteranscaucus.org for qualifications and to apply. -- Posted 01-24-07

Receive dollar-for-Health-Professional-dollar match for educational loans if serve in Shortage Area for at least two years.

Bureau of Health Professions Division of State, Community and Public Health, Virginia State Loan Repayment Plan (VA SLRP)

Financial assistance for repayment of qualified medical education loans for primary care physician assistants. Loans are repaid in return for a minimum of two years of full-time practice of the recipient's specialty area in a medically underserved area of Virginia. Recipients must serve in a federally designated Health Professional Shortage Area (HPSA).
