CLINICAL DIAGNOSTICS I

This course is the first in a sequence of three courses providing a practical evidence-based approach to clinical diagnostic testing and pathophysiology in the primary care setting. Students will learn how to order, perform, and interpret the results of diagnostic tests, imaging, and electrophysiology studies most commonly used in primary care. Special attention is given to identify the underlying pathophysiology that results in abnormal test findings. Students will learn the indications for, sequencing of, and interpretation of results in test and studies commonly used in the diagnosis of hematological, cardiovascular, pulmonary, renal, and fluid and electrolyte disorders.
